Sichan Siv
Former Ambassador for the US government, Sichan Siv, will be speaking about his inspiring story of escape from Cambodia. He is also a national bestselling author of GOLDEN BONES. Visit www.sichansiv.com for more information. Lauren Holguin TheilenMSIV Lauren Holguin Theilen will be speaking on how to approach a patient who has undergone ritual female genital cutting. She will go over the anatomy, the procedure itself, and then consider its cultural context. Emphasis will be on complications of the procedures and clinical pearls for performing a history and physical. We don't get much exposure to this topic during medical school, but we will probably all encounter these patients at some point in our medical career. This is a great opportunity to better understand FGM and its implications!
