                      Q. Is Healthcare a Human Right?
                      A. So, now that we know what is meant by "human rights," let's talk about what it means to have a "right to health."

The right to the highest attainable standard of health is often referred to as the "right to health."

"The right to health does not mean the right to be healthy, nor does it mean poor governments must put in place expensive health services for they have no resources. But it does require authorities put in place policies and action plans which lead to available and accessible health care for all in the shortest possible time. To ensure that this happens is the challenge facing both the human rights community and public health professionals.” -- Mary Robinson, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

"Women aren't the problem, they're the SOLUTION, along with men." - Sheryl Wudunn, co-author of Half the Sky. Half the Sky lays out an agenda for the world's women and three major abuses: sex trafficking and forced prostitution; gender-based violence including honor killings and mass rape; maternal mortality, which needlessly claims one woman a minute.
